We are a new performance engineering team here at RIT, made up of a diverse group of students, enhancing our knowledge of engineering through experiential learning in the form of the AIChE ChemE Car competition. It is an annual event where students from universities around the world are challenged to build a small chemically powered car. This car must stop as close to the distance given on the day of competition as possible, but the runtime of the car can only be controlled by chemistry. We are gearing up for our first competition in April at the AIChE Northeast Regionals, and that’s where the support from you, our donors, comes into play.
By supporting our cause, you will be supporting truly interdisciplinary learning. With our ChemE car projects, we strive to tackle problems at the intersection of chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering with safety and sustainability in mind. Therefore, preparing us for the engineering challenges that face the world.
Thank you for your support!
A gift of this size will support in ordering chemicals for continued testing of the car
A gift of this amount will support in supplying new glassware/tools for the laboratory and workshop.
A gift of this amount supports the travel of one student to competition in the AIChE Northeast Regionals.
